Did NOKIA really make a Comeback?
Nokia is not just a mobile phone manufacturer. It's a household name across the globe and has been a market leader in the mobile phone industry when there were not that many mobile phone manufacturers and mobile phones were considered as state-of-the-art innovation. Nokia played a significant role in passing on mobile phones into the hands of the general public. Despite significant setbacks and losses incurred by the business. In 2018, Nokia employed approximately 103,000 people across over 100 countries, did business in more than 130 countries, and reported annual revenues of around €23 billion.
History of Nokia
The roots of Nokia as a company can be found in the Finnish Swedish mining-related business formed in 1865. The business evolved around new technological advancements and changes in the business environment. In 1967 Nokia merged three companies to form a new Nokia Corporation which focused mainly on four different businesses forestry, cable, rubber, and electronics. Slowly and steadily, Nokia started focusing on large telecommunication-based infrastructures around the globe. One of the main reasons for this drive was after Nokia both Computers division of Ericson's information system.
Nokia also took over Mobira, a mobile telephony company that launched the Nordic cellular smartphone (NMT) service, the world's first worldwide cellular network, and the first to permit global roaming. In 1982, Mobira released the Mobira Senator vehicle telephone, Nokia's first cellular telephone. At that point, the enterprise had no interest in producing cellular telephones, which the executive board regarded as corresponding to James Bond's gadgets: improbably futuristic and niche devices.
The early 1990s were very interesting for Nokia as many decisions were taken, which were very bold and proved to be one of the most critical factors for Nokia's early success. Ollila, the newly appointed head of Nokia in 1922, decided to turn Nokia into a telecommunication-based company serving clients from big telecommunication companies which require massive infrastructures to the general public which was getting used to the mobile phone as a necessity rather than an occasionally used gadget.
Rise of Nokia as a Giant
After being a significant player in the mobile phone industry, Nokia took a bold step in co-founding Symbian, which can be said to be an Andriod system of the 1990s. It played a vital role in helping Nokia mass-produce mobile phones and make them more user-friendly than ever. Nokia also worked hard to understand the needs of people and its software was soon good enough to offer basic utility applications such as calculator and calendar in the mobile phone along with basic games.
By 1998 Nokia was booming as the company had sales of over $20 Billion, generating a net profit of more than $2.6 Billion. And the trend kept on getting bullish every year. Just between 1996 and 2001, the turnover soars fivefold from $6.5 Billion to $31 Billion. The mobile phone brands which we see now in the market are the new entrants as Nokia and Motorola were considered as the pioneers of the industry when the millennium started. By 2007 Nokia had a massive 40% market share of the global mobile phone market.
Fall of Nokia
Companies such as Nokia, Kodak and Fuji films have provided enough case studies to help understand the dynamics of the market and how to adopt the new philosophy for it's too late. Although Steven R Covy emphasized on the importance of adopting the new philosophy, the managers at the mega giants forgot the basics of the dynamics of changing market. Had Nokia adopted the new trend of smartphones and went with the flow, they wouldn't have been pushed away by the smartphone manufacturers. When Nokia had 40% market share, Samsung, which holds more than 24% market share of a much bigger market was nowhere to be seen as a mobile phone manufacturer. Although Apple introduced its flagship and state of the art at that time iPhone 3g in 2007-2008, it took a few years to become the next big thing. Nokia, rather than carefully understanding the changes in the mobile phone market, kept on producing mobile phones and did not pay any attention to the smartphone market and underestimated the benefits it could bring to Nokia.
What Really went wrong
Nokia underestimated the damage the smartphone market might cause to Nokia's market share. Although they were able to see the sharp drop in sales, still failed to grasp the essence of the change. Nokia must not have imagined that just in a mere few years their massive market share of 40% will be reduced to a single-digit market share. The company posted a massive loss for the second quarter of 2011, but this was the time when Nokia was getting closer to mass-producing its first Windows-based smartphone, i.e. Lumia 800 but this was too little too late as by mid-2012 the company's stock price fell below $2. By 2014, Nokia's global brand value according to Interbrand fell to 98th place, a sharp slide from the 5th place it was in 2009.
Nokia's comeback with Android
Just within few years, Nokia understood the wrong decision of relying on its in-house software and then on Windows has caused considerable damage to the company, and now is the time to reverse it. Nokia went under several agreements with different companies around the globe such as Foxx con and French mobile phone manufacturer Alcatel-Lucent and launched a series of Android-based mobile phones. The major mobile phones based on Android iOS are listed below with a short review of them. These mobile phones did not manage to capture a considerable market share once enjoyed by Nokia but helped the company to get back on the right track with major mobile phone manufacturers.

NOKIA 1 Review
Nokia has made a desperate attempt to reclaim its thorn with the new mobile phones which are based on the Android operating system, especially after its alliance with the newly formed company HMD Global. And the start doesn’t seem to be promising but having said that, and there is no doubt that the company is on the right track now. According to an industry report, more than 75% of the mobile phones used in 2019 are based on Android iOS, whereas less than 20% use Apple’s iOS. Nokia 1 is a budget smartphone that one can buy for under £80, but the problem is there are too many makes and models that are trying to capture the budget smartphones market which has soared in the last few years. The handset sports a series of specifications straight out of 2010. That is to say a 4.5 inch 480 x 854 screen, 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M chipset, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and 8GB of internal storage. These specifications are far lower than the budget smartphone within the same price range offered by Vodafone and Samsung. Maybe that is one of the reasons why Nokia was not able to capture a larger market share than first anticipated. Due to its low price and low specifications, there aren’t that many units out there, but you have a Nokia 1 and want to sell it, we will be able to offer you a price for it. Please click here to find out the exact price Rapid Phone Buyer is willing to provide you with when you sell your Nokia 1 to us.

NOKIA 1 PLUS Review
NOKIA 1 Plus is another low-end smartphone launched by Nokia to address the needs of the budget smartphones market. But it seems like they have targeted the extreme low-end market. Because although it has the Plus in its name, and despite being launched in 2019 the mobile phone is far behind its competitors. Mainly because the mobile phone does not seem to have a powerful enough processor and RAM to execute most of the latest apps and is deemed to get stuck, in 2019 most of the budget mobile phones launched by Samsung, Huawei, and Vodafone in the UK have at least 2GB RAM whereas NOKIA 1 Plus is only equipped with 1GB of RAM. Price-wise it's much cheaper than Samsung's budget mobile phone, but still, it does not meet the market demands unless it was made for third world countries where the general public needs a smartphone with meager budget. Although not many recycling companies buy NOKIA 1 Plus in the UK, we at Rapid Phone Buyer are happy to give you a quote. You can sell your NOKIA 1 Plus to Rapid Phone Buyer without any hesitation.

NOKIA 2 Review
NOKIA 2 is another budget mobile phone launched by Nokia in 2017. Although it’s the first smartphone launched by Nokia, the mobile phone offers a pretty decent screen size. The mobile Phone comes with a very low internal memory and requires an immediate external memory upgrade. Retailers such as Carphone Warehouse in the UK managed to sell quite a large number of these mobile phones, but according to many reviews online, they didn’t get famous among users due to their slow speed and less memory. These low-end mobile phones do not meet the demands of budget mobile phones because they do not provide the basic level of performance a user expects from these budget mobile phones. Having said all this, we at Rapid Phone Buyer are still buying them and are among the few recyclers in the UK whom you can sell your old Nokia 2.

NOKIA 3 Review
NOKIA 3 was launched in February 2017. NOKIA 3 can be said to be a decent low-end Nokia model which has met the expectations of its users. One of the main reasons why NOKIA 3 has not disappointed its users is the fact that this smartphone is much more powerful than most of Nokia’s smartphones, especially aesthetically. NOKIA 3 has an aluminum body and does not feel as if it’s a cheap-end smartphone. It is powered by a mid-level processor the mobile phone is equipped with 2GB of RAM rather than only 1GB RAM as in Nokia 1 and Nokia 2. Although 67.3% screen-to-body ratio is far less than what other budget smartphones offer, especially in 2019, when most of the smartphones even budget ones by Samsung Vodafone and Huawei provide more than 80% screen-to-body ratio. If you want to sell Nokia 3, you can sell it to Rapid Phone Buyer. You can recycle your old Nokia 3 with confidence, and we will pay instant cash for your old Nokia 3

NOKIA 3.1 PLUS Review
NOKIA 3.1 Plus is another budget mobile phone launched by Nokia in 2018. This mobile phone was launched to address the mid-level budget mobile phone market as its processor and RAM are not the lowest offered by Nokia and other manufacturers. The look and feel of the mobile phone aren’t cheap either. The mobile phone has an aluminum body and a plastic back which gives it a better look than Nokia 1 and Nokia 2. Equipped with 3GB RAM AND a 13 MP primary camera the mobile phone offers excellent value for money. The mobile phone is equipped with a reliable processor enough to do everyday tasks. At the time of launch, the mobile phone was sensibly priced below the £150 mark which helped get the mobile phone off the stores in the UK. But the mobile phone failed to gain mass attention because in that price range there were several other cheap options available to users in the budget smartphone market — especially the Samsung J3 series.

NOKIA 4.2 Review
NOKIA 4.2 is another example of Nokia trying its best to capture the niche of budget mobile phones. Although the mobile phone is equipped with a strong 3GB RAM and a 13MP primary camera, it lacks to offer any fantastic features. But one should expect it to be as amazing as a Samsung S8 or another model of that price range. Just to put things in a better perspective, let me explain it like this. You can buy 5 NOKIA 4.2s at the cost of only one Samsung s10. That’s how gigantic the price difference is. The Nokia 4.2 is aimed at the lightest of wallets, and it seems it has achieved its objectives. Nokia has recently announced that the mobile phone giant has tippled its handset market share just in last year which is pretty impressive keeping in view that only a few years ago Nokia was almost a thing of the past. Nokia managed to sell Nokia 4.2 in the UK through the Carphone warehouse and other retail giants and has achieved its objectives. Due to being a low-end model and high repair cost, there aren’t many recycling companies in the UK who would be willing to buy your Nokia 4.2. But if you have a Nokia 4.2, you can sell it to Rapid Phone Buyer without any hesitation.
NOKIA 5 Review
With a fantastic premium metal design, Nokia 5 does not fail to impress Nokia fans. Nokia 5 was launched in 2017 but it's still in use without any problem. Nokia 5 can be said to meet all its desired objectives. The mobile phone is equipped with 3GB RAM which is enough to perform most tasks and run most apps available in the app store. The 5.2-inch HD (720p) display is crisp and clear, although the colors don’t exactly jump out of the screen, while the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner on the front of the handset is also rather impressive. Despite many positive points, it was expected for the mobile phone to offer better battery life which it didn’t. If it would have provided a better battery life, there were chances that the mobile phone would have produced better results than Samsung J3 and A3 series which intended to target the same budget mobile phone niche. If you have a Nokia 5 for sale, you can sell it to Rapid Phone Buyer without any hesitation. Trade in your Nokia 5 for instant cash.

NOKIA 6 Review
Nokia mobile phones always had the reputation of being the most robust mobile phones available in the market until they were being used by the masses. Nokia strives to maintain the same reputation even with a full range of smartphones. Nokia 6 is no exception to this rule. The mobile phone comes with gorilla glass, and the screen tends to be much stronger than those of Samsung and Motorola mobile phones from the same niche. It has an impressive 3-4GB RAM and a powerful battery. Even the cameras of mobile phones are also powerful. The front camera is 5.5MP, whereas the back camera is 16MP. This mobile phone also takes two sim cards, unlike most of the other budget mobile phones available in the market. Although not many recycling companies in the UK buy Nokia 6 without any hesitation, you can sell Nokia 6 to us even if it's locked on to any UK Network.

NOKIA 6.1 PLUS Review
NOKIA 6.1 Plus something we call a mobile phone with character. It was launched back in mid-2018. The mobile phone is impressive and is intended to target smartphone users who want performance but can't pay the highest p[price tag. NOKIA 6.1 Plus offers an amazing mobile phone user experience as this mobile phone has almost everything a user can expect from a smartphone and does not let the user down by its performance.
